Due to our date change, there was already a wedding planned for the evening of our race, and the staging for wedding activities requires us to move down the road about 0.6 miles for the event staging.

All race activities will take place adjacent the race transition area, including packet pick up, late registration, swim, finish, awards, and post-race food and drinks! "Like" our Facebook page for event updates: Use #mountainlakestri on any social media!

This race venue is extremely spectator friendly and a great course for beginners due to calm swim, flat courses, and a great mix of beginners and fast folks to model after!

Swim Course: Very calm open water swim in Lake Guntersville.

The water level is typically shallow enough to allow swimmers to touch bottom through much of the course...making this course very attractive for first-time open water swimmers.

With the race now being held in May, there is a good chance the water temperature will allow wetsuits.

USA Triathlon rules allow wetsuits in water 78 °F or less.

Bike Course: Definitely one of our fastest courses.

The route is all right-hand turns on mostly rural / neighborhood roads with some nice farm scenery and cool finish across the lake as you approach the race venue.

Very slight rolling hills in a couple of spots, but most our racers describe it as FLAT.

Run Course: The entire run is on a paved greenway along Lake Guntersville. With the new transition area being close to the middle of the trail, the run will actually be a figure 8 on the Greenway. Some of our best race photos all year long come from Mountain Lakes as the lake is your run course backdrop.

  1. And originally, I was looking at Rob for Lorca, and thought we’d find our Dali in Spain, but he was so right for Dali that I switched it and we cast Dali in England and Lorca in Spain.
